Privacy Policy

Your privacy matters, and it matters especially in a coaching relationship built on trust. This policy explains what personal information is collected through this website and the coaching practice, how it’s used, and how it’s protected.

This practice is committed to handling personal information in line with the Privacy Act 1988 (Cth) and the Australian Privacy Principles (APPs).

The Information Collected

Personal information is collected only when voluntarily provided — for example, when you:

  • Submit an enquiry through the contact form
  • Book an introductory session or coaching session
  • Correspond by email

This may include your name, email address, and any details you choose to share about your situation or your enquiry.

If you become a coaching client, additional information relevant to the coaching relationship may be collected and recorded — for example, notes from sessions, contact details, and billing information for invoicing purposes.

How Information Is Used

Information collected is used only to:

  • Respond to your enquiry
  • Arrange and deliver coaching sessions
  • Manage the practical and financial administration of the coaching relationship (invoicing, scheduling)
  • Improve the website and the practice’s communication with visitors

Personal information is not sold, rented, or shared with third parties for marketing purposes. It is not used for anything beyond the purposes above.

Confidentiality of Coaching Sessions

What you bring to coaching sessions is confidential. Session content is not discussed with anyone outside the practice, with two exceptions, which are explained again in full before coaching begins:

  • Mandatory reporting obligations under South Australian law
  • A genuine concern about immediate risk to your life or another person’s life

Outside those two exceptions, what is discussed in sessions stays between you and Deborah Mason.

Website Analytics

This site uses Google Site Kit to understand how visitors use the site — for example, which pages are viewed and how visitors arrive here. This is used only to understand and improve the website itself. It is not used to build advertising profiles, and no advertising is served on this site.

Your browser allows you to block or clear cookies at any time through your browser settings. Doing so may affect some site functionality but will not affect your ability to make contact or book a session.

Information About Young People

This practice works with young clients aged 15 to 17 with the written consent of a parent or guardian, as described in the Frequently Asked Questions. Where a young client’s information is collected, it is handled under the same confidentiality principles that apply to adult clients, and is not shared with a parent or guardian beyond confirming that sessions are occurring as scheduled.

The website itself is not directed at children, and personal information is not knowingly collected from children under 15 through the website’s general contact and enquiry channels.

How Information Is Stored and Protected

Personal information is stored securely and is accessible only to Deborah Mason. Reasonable technical and administrative steps are taken to protect it against loss, misuse, and unauthorised access.

Information is retained only for as long as needed for the purposes described above, or as required by law (for example, financial record-keeping obligations), after which it is securely deleted or de-identified.

Access, Correction, and Complaints

You can ask to see, correct, or have deleted any personal information held about you by getting in touch through the Contact page.

If you have a concern about how your personal information has been handled that isn’t resolved directly, you have the right to make a complaint to the Office of the Australian Information Commissioner (OAIC) at oaic.gov.au
